Equipment

  • nice mug to serve it in

Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly brewed coffee of your choice
  • 1 dollop whipped cream
  • 1-2 ounces Irish Whiskey
  • 1-2 tsp sweetener such as brown sugar, regular sugar or maple syrup

Instructions

  • Brew your favorite coffee.
  • Add Irish whiskey to a mug.
  • Then fill the mug with coffee, leaving about 1/2-inch at the top for whipped cream.
  • Sweeten to taste with maple syrup or brown sugar or regular sugar. Gently stir to blend. (Something to try: instead if sugar, add a few mini chocolate chips to the hot coffee. They will partially melt into the coffee adding sweetness and a soft chocolate flavor.)
  • Top with whipped cream. (home made or from a can, whatever you have)
  • Variations:
  • Decorate. Sprinkle the top with a dash of cinnamon or chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips.
  • Use decaf coffee
  • Serve it on ice. Pour cold brew coffee or brewed coffee over a cup filled with ice. Add half and half or heavy cream.
  • Make it quick. Skip the homemade whipped cream and add half and half or heavy cream instead.
  • Make it fancy. Add some Baileys Irish cream to alter the flavor. You can add it with the whiskey or in place of the whiskey.
