This elderflower spritz is lovely on a warm summer day!

I was surprised at how nice it tasted.

It is just the right amount of sweet, floral, and citrus with bubbles for excitement.

Elderflower Spritz

Refreshing cool drink on a warm summer's day using prosecco and elderflower liquor.

Equipment

  • a pretty glass

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 oz Elderflower Liquor
  • 4 oz Prosecco
  • 2 oz Sparkling Water such as pelligrino, lime flavored seltzer, club soda, or substitute regular water in a pinch
  • Ice
  • Herb: Sprig of rosemary or fresh basil or lime slice or sliced strawberries or rasberries
  • squeeze of lemon or lime juice is optional

Instructions
 

  • If you are using basil, crush it a bit and put in in the glass first.
  • Add ice to the glass.
  • Add the elderflower liquor.
  • Add the sparking soda water (and optional squeeze of lime / lemon juice).
  • Fill the rest of the glass with prosecco.
  • You can add a sprig of rosemary or a slice of lime to serve or rasberries or strawberries.
