Disney +: What is it? Should you get it?
Disney+ is an on-demand, ad-free new streaming service created by the Walt Disney Company.
It is expected to be a big competitor to Netflix.
Disney + went live on Tuesday, Nov 12, 2019. There were some initial issues and outages. In the first 24 hours, the Disney Plus app was downloaded 3.2 million times, according to Apptopia, and viewers watched 1.3 million hours of viewing.
Subscribers will have access to movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and 20th Century Fox.
The Mandalorian – new series
The subscription also includes new original programming exclusive to Disney+. The first new Disney series: The Mandalorian was released on Nov 12 with 1 episode.
In the future, Disney Plus will have new weekly releases of The Mandalorian. The New episodes will go live at 12:01 a.m. PT on Fridays, beginning this week.
The Mandalorian is advertised as:
“The travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.”

As per Wikipedia, the Mandalorians are a fictional race of people from the planet Mandalore first seen in The Empire Strikes Back as a group of white-armored “super commandos”. The bounty hunter, Boba Fett, was a Mandalorian, but the word “Mandalorian” is never used in the film.
