Key Lime Cocktail
_______________________________________________
I had this key lime cocktail at the White Horse Tavern in New Milford, CT. I loved it! I tried a few online recipes, but none of them were as good as the Tavern. Then I found this one on A Couple Cooks that tasted similar. I ended up adding 1/2 ounce of simple syrup and 1 ounce more cream to get it where I wanted it.
Hope you like it!
Key Lime Cocktail
Great tasting easy, fun cocktail.
Equipment
- shaker
- nice glass to serve it in
Ingredients
- 1/2 ounce vodka
- 2 ounces Liquor 43 Licor 43 is a Spanish honey / vanilla liqueur you can find at most liquor stores
- 2 ounces cream
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 1/2 ounce key lime juice
- graham cracker crust (optional but fun)
Instructions
- Make the Crust: Crush the graham crackers very finely. A good way is to place them in a plastic bag and roll over them with a rolling pin. Place them in a flat layer on a plate. You can also add some granulated sugar if you like. Wet the glass rim. You can cut a notch into a lime wedge if you like, then run that around the wedge of the glass. Dip the outer edge of the rim into the glass, gently turning the rim
- Place the Licor 43, vodka, key lime juice, and heavy cream in a cocktail shaker with 2 handfuls ice.
- Shake hard for 60 seconds until cold.
- Strain the drink into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and serve.
